"If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime!"

We at WWB have realized that we cannot accomplish our goals without the support of people locally, across the country and internationally joining hands with us. We have achieved a lot as you can see on this page, but we are far yet to reach the target!!!

Short-term goals & Needs:

In line with our vision, we are currently aiming to increase the environmental, social and financial sustainability of the orphanage. Crucial to this is installation of solar electricity or wind turbine, drip irrigation technology, drilling a permanent borehole etc.

Construction of children playroom
Our children do not have a play room despite the donations of many toys and games we continue to receive from our supporters. The rooms they would use are currently used as study rooms and private tutoring. As the playing of indoor games help develop the mental capacity of young children, we believe this room would be of essence.
The approximate cost for this project is $USD 3700.

Construction of storage room for farm produce
As we increase the production of our farm produce for the orphanage consumption, we will need a room to store foodstuff after being harvested. For example maize, beans, pumpkins, bananas among others.
The cost for this project is $USD 4000.

Sponsors for our two vocational school trainers
ESB has donated many computers and sewing machines which have equipped our resource center for the benefit of the orphanage and surrounding poor communities. Even though we hope to begin charging little fee to student, this may not be sufficient as most of them cannot afford it, and therefore we are looking for an individual sponsors or corporate to sponsor the trainer for both computer and dressmaking.
The cost for this project is $USD 400/month

Solar Electricity

We hope to cover our lighting and other electrical needs with solar generated electricity. This will not only cut the running cost of the organization but will educate many people of the essence to use natural energy and conserving the environment. We have successfully installed 30 percent of the center with solar.

The approximate cost for this project is $USD 3600.

Drip Irrigation

We have 3 acres of fertile land which we hope to irrigate using sustainable drip technologies. This will increase the amount of food that we are able to produce for our children as well as providing a model farm for the wider community.

The approximate price for water tanks, drip irrigation lines, and water pumps is $USD 3500.

Long-term goals

Our longer term goals are to:

Drilling a Permanent Borehole

Even after digging the second well at the orphanage we still experience water shortage, limiting our vision about the future projects. The construction of a borehole will also enhance our hygiene and productivity, as well as the sustainability of the current and future projects at the orphanage as well as serving the community
Luca Chiesa and Juergen Mies have already raised $4000.

The entire project will cost $USD 24000.

Construction of a Primary School
Besides food, shelter and healthcare which we are able to provide to the orphans who reside at the orphanage and in the community, the best we can do for the future of these children is to provide them with the quality, affordable and reliable education, which unfortunately is lacking at present. We are looking for individual or corporate donors to partner with us, and build a school for 360 children.
The construction of a school will cost $USD 55000.
